Constance Thalken

Constance Thalken’s photographs have been featured in over 100 exhibitions in galleries and museums in the U.S., Mexico, France, Greece and Brazil. Venues include the San Diego Art Institute (CA), New Orleans Museum of Art (LA), The Light Factory (NC), Municipal Cultural Center of Ioannia (Greece), Huntsville Museum of Art (AL), Harn Museum of Art (FL), Foundation Charles-Leopold Mayer (France), The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center (GA), Photographic Center Northwest (WA), Birmingham Museum of Art, (AL), Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (CA), Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, and the Torpedo Factory (VA). Her work is in the permanent collections of the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, The Birmingham Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, The Bunnen Collection, Yale University Library, and other private collections. She received an MFA in Photography from Yale University and lives in Atlanta where she is represented by Whitespace Gallery.

2017 AGP Prize Winner

Recent GSU Welch alum Ben Lee was one of two winners of the 2017 Atlanta Photography Group Student Prize for photographic artists in Georgia. Along with the other finalists, he will have work at an exhibition at the APG Gallery from August 24 to September 23. According to BURNAWAY, “APG invited the faculty of all Georgia colleges with a fine art degree program to nominate their top two photography students.  A total of 15 students were nominated and submitted examples of their work to a three-member panel of judges, comprising MOCA GA director Annette Cone Skelton, Atlanta Contemporary curator Daniel Fuller, and Gregory Harris, assistant curator of photography at the High Museum of Art.”
